Hello everyone,
By the time you are reading this we will probably already be back in
Mississippi or almost there. We will be going home early so my family and I can take a much needed vacation together. It has been at least five years since we have been able to do so. We are thankful that we
will be able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families.
October and November has been very eventful for us here. We were officially welcomed into the
village of
Yaguirachi by the village chief and families that live there. They told us, “This is your village now, you are a part of us...”. We all were very surprised by such a great welcome. It had to be God’s
favor because the Indians don’t just welcome in outsiders, especially Gringos.
The following week we had group from the
Chihuahua
Calvary
Chapel
Church there to help with the outreach. The group helped with the kids and afterwards we all repaired the fence that surrounded the school at one time, but had fallen into disrepair.
We have been praying a long time for a well drilling rig. A few months ago we were contacted by a
non-profit organization out of
Canada that is interested in working with us to drill wells for the Indians here in the mountains. This past week Bruce Luney and Ben Walls came down from
British Columbia to meet Shelly and me. We were able to show them at least two villages we could drill in next year. They were very excited about the area and were very pleased in everything they saw. They
plan on bringing in a large truck-mounted drilling rig to leave in Mexico. The have asked Pablo and I to be the directors of their society here overseeing the drilling projects here. Teams will come down and drill wells with us during the
year.
We are so amazed to see how God is moving things into place and using people from areas that we never would have dreamed of. We all look forward to seeing everyone when we get to
Corinth and spending the holidays with friends and families. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support in 2009. We look forward to greater things in 2010.
