Onboard Air Compressor

The pictures above show the Viair 200 psi 12 volt air compressor and 5 gallon tank I bought of EBAY. The compressor is a 480c 100% duty cycle @ 100psi or 50% @ 200 psi, more than enough for my needs. I needed a system that would air up my tires on the back country roads in the mountains that I work in. The compressor is connected to a 5 gallon tank mounted just under the rear door behind the driver's seat. Everything fit perfectly out of sight beneath my truck. The compressor intakes its air from inside the cab of the truck via a 6 foot hose and filter located under the rear seat. There is a automatic pressure switch that will shut off the compressor at 200 psi. I wanted the control switch in an easy to reach spot, but out of sight. I mounted the switch in the small pocket to the left of the ash tray. It fit perfectly with room for 3 or 4 more switches if I ever need them. The switch has a small green led and is connected to a 40 amp relay under the hood.
