2000 F350-F250 7.3 liter diesel bypass oil filtration system.

Bypass Oil Filtration System

I wanted to put a bypass oil filtration system on my truck to extend oil change intervals and keep my engine oil cleaner. So I researched online and looked at all of the available bypass filtration systems. You can spend as little as $200 or up to $600. From all the reading I did, I came to the conclusion I could put together a system that would function just as well for a lot less money. I started by contacting someone at Amsoil and ordered a filter base. It has a pressure reducing orifice built in. I also ordered the bypass filter itself. The oil lines and JIC to NPT connectors I bought locally. Since I have a 7.3 liter diesel engine, the outlets to install the bypass system had already been designed into the engine by International Harvester. I simply removed the plugs, installed the lines, connectors and the filter. In all I spent just under $150 to put this system together. I did build the mounting bracket myself and saved a little there.
