Transmission cooling Mod

After installing the transmission temperature gauge a few months back I was surprised to see how hot my transmission got while climbing the steep mountain roads here in the western Sierra Madres. I did some research and found that you could swap the original transmission cooler out with a larger one from a 6.0. I found one in a junk yard when we were in Mississippi last November. I also bought a couple of thermostat controlled 10" electric fans. Now my transmission almost never gets above 180 degrees.

The picture above shows the new (dirty) fans. The larger transmission cooler is located between the ac condenser and the intercooler for the turbo. The little cooler you see in front is for your power steering/hydro-brake unit.
