External Fuel Filter Mod
With all the diesel I buy in Mexico I know this modification will save me trouble in the long run. The photo shows the external filter I added that replaces the in-tank filters that will clog sooner or later. When this happens you won't know it because there is a rubber valve that will open and draw in the unfiltered diesel when the others clog. This mod removes those filters and the diesel return mixing valve that will add air to the fuel system resulting in the loud "cackle" some trucks have a problem with. The quick connects are also done away with at the tank and up to the inline fuel pump to also further eliminate the entrance of air into the system. This filter also incorporates a water separator.
