DP Tuner Mod
After a year and a half of research and preparation to my truck, I decided on the performance tuner made by DP Tuner.
This mod consists of a tuner module that plugs directly into the computer or "brain" that controls the 7.3 liter engine. The tuner is controlled by a 16 position switch that you mount in an easy to access location. With this type of tuner you can "shift on the fly" to access up to 16 custom programs without stopping. My programs include a high altitude tow position, a 120 hp, a 100 hp and a 80 hp economy setting for normal highway driving. With the switch removed the truck will not start adding a great security measure. In the 80hp economy mode I have seen a 5 mpg increase. This will really be noticeable when we make our 1550 mile trips back and forth from Creel, Mexico to Corinth, Ms. I am very satisfied with this mod. You cant help but grin when you mash the pedal down, see a big puff of black smoke and everyone getting rapidly smaller in your rear-view mirror!!!
