Tarahumara Outreach Albergue feeding Ministry
Because of the outreaches and work to provide water in a few of the albergues in this area, we have become aware of food shortages in the small communities located back in the mountains. God placed a burden on Shelly's heart to do something about this need. The albergue in Apachochi only receives Govt. food rations every two months. They begin to run out 10 to 20 days before they receive more food. They only receive enough food to feed 30 children 1 meal a day. 12 to 14 of the children have to stay at the albergue overnight through the week. They somehow must stretch the food and depend on donations to feed them three times a day. We have been provided the means to supplement the food rations for the children of two albergues here in the mountains near Creel. God has shown us that he is going to use people in the state of Chihuahua to help stop the hunger for their own people. We have been able to take fresh fruit and vegetables to these remote villages. The items needed that have not been donated like canned meats, are being bought. Soon, God willing, we will have an income generating source located in Creel that will provide for this need also. It has been amazing to see how God is opening more doors and providing things we never dreamed of! We soon hope to be able to improve their sleeping and bathing areas.
