March News 2010...
Hello Everyone,
God never ceases to amaze us with His provisions. Our vision of using a rotary powered drilling rig is slowly coming to pass.
The Canadian non-profit organization “Walls and Wells” is now in the process of importing a truck mounted drilling rig for us to use here in the mountains of Chihuahua, Mx. We had the pleasure this past month to host Ben
Wall and his wonderful family here for a week (photo to the right). Ben came down to begin the process of forming a Mexican civil association so that the drilling equipment could be imported without being taxed. God also showed His
faithfulness by providing us with an English speaking lawyer in Chihuahua City. We were able to meet with him and get all the paperwork started. We all are very excited with this opportunity. It will open up even more doors for us to be able
to help and bless others. We ask everyone to continue to lift this situation
up in prayer so that everything would go smoothly and promptly.
Extreme Missionary Adventures out of West Monroe, La sent a group of five people down to spend about a week with us helping to complete one of our ongoing water projects. Donnie Barker of XMA led the team from Family
Fellowship Church in Greenville, Texas. While they were here we were able to purchase and install the 2 kilometers of water pipe needed for the water project in the remote mountain village of
Huisarochi .
To the left you can see a large pine tree that had fallen across the road during the rainy season last fall. The tree had to be cut and moved out of the road before we could get up to the spring and begin working. After
about a couple of hours of sawing with a dull chainsaw blade we were finally able to get the tree moved.
Below to the right Donnie and Chris are rolling out some of the 2000 meters of water pipe we needed to reach from the spring down to the village below in the valley. Each 100 meter section had to be spliced together with
metal couplers and clamps, which the group supplied. Joel is digging a trench
across the road to bury
the pipe in to protect it from being damaged by the log trucks that sometime use this road.
The group was also able to help us pour the concrete floor for our missions’ warehouse / tool storage facility at the missions' base in Rochivo. I am very anxious to get this project finished so I can get all of my
pumps, generators, tools, etc out of our house and make Shelly very happy and my life a lot easier! This base will also serve as a secure place to store both the drilling rig truck and the support truck.
To the left, Donnie and Dallas and Chris are seen mixing cement at the missions’ base. They also had time to go out with us on Saturday morning to participate in our weekly village outreach in Yaguirachi. After four days
of work I figured the team had earned a much needed day of rest, so on Friday we did a little site seeing of the canyons and also of the beautiful rock formations around this area.
There were more killings this month here and in San Juanito among the rival drug cartels trying to gain control of this area. So please keep us all in your prayers.
Now is the time to plan for your short term missions trip. Contact us for dates and answers to your questions on food, lodging and safety issues.
We want to thank all of you for your continued support and prayers for this ministry. Remember, you may not be able to go yourself, but your donations are helping us to go out into the "Highways and Hedges..."
