Ongoing Water Project for the community of San Luis Majimachi.

The pictures above show the ongoing construction of the upper cistern located on the top of  a mountain over looking the village. It will  have a base of  5 meters x 5 meters and 2 meters high. The water source is located approximately a mile down in a small canyon. To get a good perspective of just how big this tank is, the picture in the upper right shows Tim Scuitto and I standing in one corner of it.

The picture to the above left shows us taking altitude readings and the one to the right is a view of the village of San Luis Majimachi from the top of the mountain.

This the latest picture taken of the completed cistern located on top of a mountain over looking the village of San Luis Majimachi. The water source is located one mile down in a canyon with a height difference of 600 feet. We will have two pumping stations to get the water to the top of the mountain. This system will serve at least 46-50 families.

I was contacted by Henk Kaemingk, Director of the YWAM base in Creel to come and see the project and take some altitude measurements at the spring source as well as the site of the upper water tank. Henk asked me to be the technical consultant for this    water project. For more information about this outreach visit Ray of Light, El Buen Discipulo website.
