Water Project at Guaguitare

Guaguitare is a village only nine miles off the main road south of Creel, but it will take you a good hour and a half to reach the village because of the bad mountain roads. There is a small adobe schoolhouse there in the village. This is where Bro. Santiago teaches. He lives in a small one room log house next to the school during the week and walks or rides his bicycle home on the weekends.

The village had a working water system a few years back, but it fell into disrepair. God put us in contact with Bro. Santiago in August of 2006 on our first fact-finding trip to this area. God also placed a burden on Shelly's and my heart to try and do something for this village. About a year later with the help of some dear friends from our church and our supporting churches we were able to purchase the generator and complete the repair of the entire system. As of July 20th, the village now has a working water system. The system consists of a Grunfos 230 volt submersible  pump, an 8000 watt generator, 985 meters of black well pipe and a 2400 liter water tank.
