Hello everyone, We have had a very busy month this past September with the move and the children's ministry outreach in two villages we have become involved with. The rainy season here has lasted about two months longer than usual making it impossible to plan and do any water projects. We have in turn focused on the outreaches to the villages. On Wednesday we, along with Tim, Cheryl, and their children made the trip to the village of Apachochi, an hour away from Creel. The outreach started out just for the children, but many women of the village are now coming and also take part in the meetings to do crafts and hear Bible teaching. There are a couple of men who sometimes show up also. We are praying that something for the men could also be started to get them interested. There are many children in this little village, some stay at the school overnight during the week so they won't have to walk so far to school every day. The school only receives enough funds to feed the children one meal a day. They have to stretch the food and depend on God to provide the rest. We have had the wonderful opportunity to come and minister to these kids. We spend quality time with them, play games, sing songs and do bible lessons. We are planning a puppet ministry soon to be done by our children along with Tim and Cheryl's children also. Below you can see just a few of the children who come to meet us about a mile before you get to the village and ride back with us to the little school where we have our meetings.
Above, Tim Sciuttto is teaching a bible lesson to the children and I am interpreting for him.
Above you can see our children as well as Tim and Cheryl's helping out with the refreshments. It is such a blessing to be able to make these kids smile and to show them the love of Jesus.
On Friday we all went to the village of Huetosacachi to minister to the children there. To get to this village you must cross a river 39 times. As you can see below, the children love to play games when we come. There is always a time for Bible study and crafts during our visits. Below, Alvaro is giving a Bible lesson while a craft concerning the lesson is being done at the same time.

After each bible lesson we have prayer with them and give an invitation for the children to accept Christ as their savior. We also give out Bibles to those who want one and can read Spanish.
This past Friday it rained while we were there. The river rose rapidly making it a very exciting trip back to town. Above to the right I am crossing a section of the river that has covered the road. During the rainy season it is sometimes impossible to access these areas. The water you see in the picture above came from only about an hour of rain. This week I am scheduled to return to the canyon village of Guacaivo with the Montana group. The little school and Albergue will be in operation. I will be doing some fine tuning and modifications to the water system and will also be showing films to the kids at night. There is still a large police and military
presence in Creel. About two weeks ago two police men were shot and wounded just south of here. The same night two men were found hung in town. This event was hushed up and didn't make the news. Onor u'ami micuirsa (God Bless You, in Tarahumara) Blessings Ryan, Shelly, Monica and Melena Maness
